Woodwinds! I have just come across a few resources for you that you may find useful.
.) A new Bassoon instructor just moved to the valley. He also teaches private lessons on other woodwinds in addition to Bassoon. His name is Clayton Wright (619) 203 - 6559. For those of you wanting to get into Wind Ensemble (or keep your spot) lessons are a GREAT plan!
.) We are fortunate to have an incredible Oboe/Flute teacher in the valley, her name is Joyce Washburn. Her contact information is on Mr. F's office window. If you are interested in Oboe lessons - she is a great teacher!
.) Oboe & Bassoon Reeds: Forrests Music in San Francisco. Not sure what type of reed to get? Call them! If you purchase 4-5 reeds, and ROTATE them, that should last you for the whole year! You may also want to try Arundo Reeds.
.) Want to make your reeds last longer? I saw this awesome product at NAMM called Reed Geek. It will definitely save you money over time making crummy reeds play better. A great idea! This works on double reeds as well as single reeds. (I watched a demonstration, it really works!)
