Thursday: Minimum Day, periods 3 & 4 (Finals Blocks)
Friday: Minimum Dat, periods 5 & 6 (Finals Blocks)
Concert Band & Wind Ensemble:
Finals are in class on Tuesday (Music Theory)
Your Charms Recording Studio submissions are due Friday (with metronome)

Solo/Ensemble Festival:
Wind Ensemble, you are REQUIRED to participate in Solo/Ensemble Festival. You must have a selection chosen by Feb. 1st. You are responsible for hiring/rehearsing with an accompanist if you choose a solo piece. If you choose a chamber ensemble piece, you will be responsible for putting your ensemble together, and rehearsing on your own.
Concert Band, you are not REQUIRED to participate in Solo/Ensemble Festival. If you plan on moving up to Wind Ensemble next year, it is HIGHLY recommended that you consider this experience.
FUNDRAISING:
We have a few things happening to help you to move ahead with your accounts, and get ahead for next year. Thanks so much to Frank Kalb and Lori Ramhoff for creating so many opportunities!!!
1.) Candy sales - we have a FIVE boxes left that are up for grabs to anyone interested. If you have any money still out from last month, you must submit your $60.00 ASAP!
2.) Tour de Palm Springs Raffle Tickets - Sell these for $1.00 each, 100% of what you sell goes back to YOU! Any unsold tickets MUST be returned! Raffle prizes can be found at:

These are due January 22nd in the box with the money & the completed ticket stubs.

TOUR DE PALM SPRINGS GIG - FEBRUARY 8th Approx. 11:30am - 3:00pm
This is now a JAZZ BAND gig. Details to come soon…
JAZZ BAND:
We will rehearse Tuesday (3:00 - 4:45) and Wednesday (3:00 - 3:30) after school.
Tuesday will be dedicated to run throughs of some of the vocal charts, and "Fever."
Wednesday's rehearsal will be focused on running through pep band tunes with new instrumentation.
Our FIRST GIG is coming up - Sunday, February 1st. More details to come, but tentatively plan on a 6:45am call time, and a release time of 11:00am. This is a "Food Gig!" Tour de Palm Springs on Feb 8th is now a Jazz Band gig.
Dress for both gigs is "Jazz Black:" Long sleeve, all black button down with a tie of your choice. Black dress slacks, black dress shoes, and LONG black socks (no, really… LONG BLACK socks!).
CHIPOTLE FUNDRAISER:
Similar to Panda Express, this will be a restaurant night at our Local Chipotle on Hwy 111 in La Quinta. Our date is confirmed - Wednesday, Feb 12th from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. Similar to Panda, you will need to have guests arrive with a flyer. We are NOT allowed to distribute flyers at the restaurant (or outside). Proceeds go to the general booster account.
