If you are in town, and would like to read down some new pep band tunes, there are about 20 new tunes on Charms for you to peruse. We will be meeting informally next week - Aug 5th, 6th, 7th 5:00-7:00pm in the band room. This is not required, but it should be a lot of fun! This will also be a chance for you to pick up your paperwork in person if you cannot download/print it from home.
All paperwork must be submitted on the first day of camp (August 12th, 7:30am in the band room). This is all available for download on Charms, OR - you will be able to pick up a packet next week in person (Aug 5th, 6th, 7th 5:00-7:00pm). You will need to have the following with you at Band Camp:
- Booster Membership
- Brigade Volunteer Form
- DSUSD Volunteer Application (this is done online, instructions are on charms)
- Authorization for Emergency Medical Care Waiver (2 Pages)
- Voluntary Excursion/Field Trip Notice & Medical Authorization...
- Authorization to Photograph
- Band Camp Registration Fee - $150 (checks made out to LQHSBBB)
Also, you must come to camp with the following (no exceptions):
- Water (1 Gallon Jug preferred)
- Sunscreen & Hat
- Athletic Shoes (no Vans, Converse, sandals, etc)
- Athletic fitting clothing (gym shorts, T Shirt)
Students who are improperly attired will be sent home! This is a safety issue, not a fashion issue. Band camp will begin each day at 7:30am. Although we will conclude rehearsals at 4:30pm, you can plan on picking your students up by 5:00pm each day. There will be a 60-90 minute lunch break each day to allow students to go home, change, and eat if they need to. Lunch breaks will take place each day at either 11:15am or 11:30am (TBD).
In the coming days, you should all receive a phone call from a student leader to address questions/concerns. For us to contact you, it is EXTREMELY important that you have all of your contact information on Charms up to date! We need working email addresses, cell phones, cell phone carriers, addresses, etc for students and at least one adult.
To login to the parent/student area, our school code is "LaQuintaHSBand," your student ID number will get you to the appropriate area. Because many of our forms and information are password protected, you will not be able to view these things (files/calendar/etc) unless you are logged in with your student ID number. The public area of charms does not show you everything that you need. This is very important!
